
The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, has launched a nationwide pre-Kharif initiative titled ‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan’. This extensive campaign is being conducted from May 29 to June 12, 2025, in convergence mode, involving ICAR institutes, Agricultural Universities, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), and State Agriculture Departments across the country.
As part of this initiative, on June 9, 2025, the Hon’ble Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, along with the Hon’ble Agriculture Minister of Telangana, Shri Thummala Nageswara Rao, participated in key events held at IIMR, Rajendranagar. Their visit included a tree plantation drive, an inauguration ceremony, and interactions with farmers from various villages.
Later, they attended the VKSA programme at Mansanpally village, Ibrahimpatnam Mandal, joined by officials including the DHSO, DHO, HO, as well as Rama Mohana Rao, Vice President of Value Oil and Gas Services, and Ramakrishna Babu, CEO of Value Oil and Gas Services, along with field officers and a large number of local farmers.
