Hon’ble Agriculture Minister Leads Oil Palm Awareness Drive in Devuni Erravally

On June 28, 2025, as part of a mega plantation drive, an oil palm plantation drive was successfully conducted in Devuni Erravally village of Chevella Mandal, located in the Rangareddy district. This significant event aimed to boost sustainable agriculture and encourage the cultivation of oil palm in the region, contributing to both economic development and self-reliance in edible oil production.

To complement the plantation activity, an awareness meeting was organized to engage and educate the local farming community about the benefits and potential of oil palm cultivation. The event witnessed the presence of several prominent dignitaries and key stakeholders who emphasized the importance of such initiatives in strengthening agricultural practices.

Gracing the occasion was the Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture, Telangana, Sri Thummala Nageswara Rao, who highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting oil palm farming. He was joined by Sri Kale Yadaiah, MLA of Chevella, and Smt. S. Yasmeen Basha, IAS, Director of Horticulture, Telangana, both of whom reiterated the government’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable agricultural practices.

Adding industry perspective and support were Sri Ramakrishna Babu Paladugu, CEO & Director of Value Oil and Gas Services Pvt. Ltd., and Sri RamaMohana Rao, Vice President of the same organization. Their presence underscored the role of public-private partnerships in driving the success of such agricultural missions. The event was also attended by Supervising Officer Sri K. Kishan Rao, Mandal Level Supervising Officer, the local Horticulture Officer, Area Manager, Field Officer, and enthusiastic participation from local farmers.

This collective effort reflects a robust and unified commitment to promoting oil palm cultivation in Telangana. It serves as a model for how coordinated action between government bodies, private sector leaders, and farming communities can lead to transformative outcomes in agriculture.
